Scientists are working on developing an infant formula that will prevent babies from growing up fat. The research aims to supplement baby milk with a hormone that suppresses the appetite. What do you think? Would you feed your baby a formula laden with hormones? Could this formula be fed to babies to spare parents the bother of teaching their children about living a healthy lifestyle?

What a horrific idea! Doesn't baby milk have enough crap in it without adding more?

I really don't see how this milk can help a would be overweight child anyway? If a parent feeds that child junk food from toddler stage onwards how on earth is the milk supposed to be of help?

Ridiculous!
Appalling idea. The best thing would be if every mother breast-fed her children so they didn't get any of that artificial formula stuff anyway.
Thank god i breastfeed!

As Boo says, its not when they are babies that obesity starts (even though my friend was told her 17lb 7 month old was obese!) its when they are older and the parents feed them all manner of crap!
I think its an appalling idea too. However please can you all consider that not every mother is able to breastfeed. Formula milk is pretty good stuff. Both my husband (6ft 5 and extremely healthy!) and I were formula fed and it did us no harm at all. mrs jg
