I had light periods up to 5 months. It doesn;t mean you aren't pregnant but you should be vigilant of any bleeding you have. Phone NHS direct now and they can advise you of what to do, they might book you into the EPAC for a scan just to check everything is ok.
Don't worry, I know it must be hard not to! A friend of mine is about 7 weeks, and was bleeding at 5 weeks. She had to wait 2 weeks for a scan to make sure baby was healthy.
There is still a heartbeat, and baby is fine and well. Best to get to docs though, just to make sure.
I also had light period type bleeds during the first 3 months of my first pregnancy. But as I just assumed I was on my period, I didnt even suspect being pregnant so didnt have the worry. Everything was fine and my daughter has just turned 7 years!
The best thing you can do is rest as much as you can and contact your hospital, preferably the labour ward. Explain the situation to them and Im sure they will advise you to go up for a scan just to make sure all is ok.
I have five weeks left of my pregnancy - I bled at around 5 weeks for a day - but it wasn't red, just a bit of brown discharge. Try not to worry. It might be an "implantation bleed". Try looking it up - but nine times out of ten docs can't explain bleeding early on in pregnancy.
Good luck xxxx
