Smells in Pregnancy

Hi, I am nearly 19 weeks pregnant and keep smelling this horrid odour! I feel as though I have BO although I am very clean, use deodrant etc etc. My husband said its just me that can smell it but it is very strange, I can only describe it as a taxi like smell?? I know my sense of smell should be heightened at the present time but my husband and daughter say there isnt a smell so its as if my body is making it, iyswim. It is very strong and very annoying now, does anybody have similar symptoms, this is my 3rd child but I cant remember these strong smells before!

Hi rinefitz, I had this with my second pregnancy. I think with me though, the smells were there but just very very faint and, like you have said, our senses are heightened during pregnancy, so I was so smelling it 100 times more. I started hating the smell of everything and anything because it all seemed too strong.

When are you due? We have our own little AB pregnancy calander going lol

It's a long time ago now, but i had a supersensitive sense of smell too. My father in law went on holiday and I had to water his tomato plants daily. The smell from them was so strong I had to hold my breath and water as fast as I could as it made me heave. I also couldn't stand the smell of celery. I'm sure I couldn't smell either now if I tried.

My mother was always sensitive to smell from when she was expecting me, I was followed by two sisters & it receded eventually but when she was expecting my younger brother 7 years after my sister was born it returned with a vengeance and remained that way for a number of years, we couldn't wear perfume, spray any sort of aerosol & she couldn't bear the smell of cooking in the house, the extractor fan had to be turned on from the moment we turned on the cooker.

Just out of curiosity, where do you smell this weird smell? Is it just in the house or do you smell it everywhere else?

I only found out in January that I was 20 qweeks pregnant and ever since, I have loved the smell of leather - cant explain it but if I can find a jacket in the house, or my husbands wallet, the smell is amazing - I can smell his wallet when it is out on the kitchen table and I am stood at the door a good 15 feet away!

I am due to have my baby on 30th April and the smell is just as strong. I also had a thing about orange and any fruit, and mashed potato - but not toghether at the same time or anything weird
