The people in uniform looked great (mostly) and there weren't too many scary women (a few, but not many). I was amazed at how many people there were, but it was really well organised! We were so lucky with the weather as well. I saw a few black and white spotty dresses but most of those ladies had hats on. Did your dress have a red lining and a red sash? That was the only lady I saw with a black and white fascinator. If it was you, I was standing right behind you on the way out and then you walked past us in the Mall. I couldn't quite muster the courage to come and talk to you! Tell me it wasn't you and I'll heave a sigh of relief, if it was I'll be gutted. We spent ages looking for people we did know! We even saw some good friends we didn't even know were going!
Hi Beanebabe, no it wasnt me, i didnt have any red in my outfit but i looked out for you all afternoon, it was quite amazing as some of the outfits I thought could have matched you but then something didnt quite match your outfit description. I said to my hubby a couple of times that I wanted to shouted out Beanebabe!! just to see if anyone answered me, There were some lovely outfits but also some horrors with hats that didnt match colourwise at all I thought. We were lucky with the weather. Did you see Anne or Edward? We were queing on Annes side, I dont suppose by chance you are going to Grantham on Saturday for medal parade?
Oh well at least I'm glad I didn't make a complete idiot of myself! We were standing on Anne's side as well! The hat's that made me laugh were the enormous black one on the little woman (it totally drowned her) and the white dustbin lid with the peacock feathers on. We had our photo's taken by SaBRE, did you? We are going to my brother-in-law's at the weekend to watch the Farnborough Airshow. I know Grantham quite well because one of my best friends lives in Caythorpe!
