Your daughter can legally leave home at 16, unless she is subject to a Court Order(UK) or Supervision Requirement (Scotland)
I think it should be more if your daughter can aford to leave home, and can she support herself and survive by herself that should matter not her age! no matter what our kids put us through they are stil our babys!!
What has she done that makes you wanna throw her out?

refuses point blank to do anything i say, I told her to stay in the other day because I caught her with her hands in my wifes purse, she just walked out.
Where do you think she is going to go ?
Sounds like she needs help rather than being thrown out! Teenagers do things like that as i sign of a cry for help sometimes, have you tried talking to her or looking at how the family are is there anything that could have affected her to make her bahave this way?
How old is she.....If she is 15-16...well you are in the most difficult period with daughters. No matter what you say,you wil be wrong, stupid etc....and everything she does will try your patience!...But things will improove-it just needs time, and on that basis I would say that kicking her out is NOT the solution. You will only cause more tension and resentment(something teenage girls are only too good at!). How will she feel when her own father 'forces' her to leave home....put yourself in her shoes before you contemplate anything that drastic.
I agree with you Matty. As parents, why should you have your life mad a misery because of a child who hasn't even lived yet and has no life experience.

This is why things are they way they are. Too many parents molly coddling their offspring and making excuses for their bad behaviour. If more parents stood their ground, we wouln't have the teenage crime that is going on now.
I think most of the teengagers are messed up because of things like this! they messed up a few times and got kicked out to fend for themselves with nothing! so turning to crime is a quick and easy way to get a bit of food! If people took time to listen to their kids more and find out what they want and need then the teenage crime would not be so high! The world is full of homeless kids because their parents just gave up do you really want to be one of those parents because i know i never will!!

Maybe parents just don't know how to parent anymore.

she just sneaked out at 7 45 this morning, what the hell am i ment to do, I think she is trying to make me throw her ouy so that she can get in a hostel or somthing, six months ago she would not have dreamed of talking to me the way she does now.
Can you get some mediation / additional talking help as a family? You don't mention how she is dong at school - are there problems there too?
Have a go - despite her horrible behaviour she is still a child and sounds a very troubled one. There may be a way of having her stay somewhere safe but 'neutral' while this is sorted out, but simply showing her the door might be something you all regret for the rest of your lives.
Just remember that once you have made this decision, even if you change your mind there may be no going back.
fourteen years ago when my then boyfriend was in his late teens, his mother decided she was fed up with his behaviour - all he was really doing was acting like a typical teen - and told him to leave her house. He did, and quite honestly he has never looked back. As all people do, he grew up, got a good job, married me and had a family.
Throughout all this he has kept the view that she was the one that put him out and he doesn't want her back in his life because it's going well and suits her again.
She wasn't at our wedding and has never met her grandchildren. My sister in law tells me there is not a day goes by that this woman does not bitterly regret her actions and all the things she has missed out on.
I know how difficult the teen years can be and that you must feel worn out and at the end oif your tether, but I am sure your daughter will pass through this stage and it would be a shame if you missed out on seeing the woman she will become.
she is on drugs by the sound of it.

no she is 15
treborrobert, people who just kick cats or dogs out make me sick, one of the lowest kind of human
I think that there is more to it than her just kicking off all the time.
Don't you think that if everything was perfect in her life then she'd kick off all the time?
How is she doing in school? Is she being bullied? Does her boyfriend bully her into doing things? These are all things you have to assess before thinking any further.
