Hello everyone..

I'm about to become an uncle and my gf and I have been thinking about a gift for the baby. I've come up with the idea of a child trust fund. Paying the original amount and then for about three months afterward. But, what do you think, is this is a good gift? Is it my place to do this? Also, as a supplementary, can I actually open a Child Trust Fund anyway, or is it down to Mummy and Daddy?

I'd appreciate any input :)

To be honest I would leave the CTF up to the parents as there are so many to choose from. We had an IFA recommend ours and family and friends can contribute to it by lump sum and DD, so you may be better waiting until they have chosen one and then contributing to that.
