I am so paranoid its really getting me down! 5 months ago i lived in a flat in not avery nice area, and one night some yobs smashed loads ov car windows in our street (mine included), this made me so paranoid i couldnt sleep wondering what was gona happen next! To cut along story short i now live with my mom in the house we have lived in since i was born. And i am still the same i am convinced one night someone will brake in and this scares the hell out ov me!! Dont know why i am like this as they didnt break into my home just vandalised our cars!!
Wherever my mom is out if i go to bed i lie there listening for noises! I leave lights on so it looks like we are up! When she is in i go to bed before her so i am already asleep if there is gona be nobody downstairs, But god help me if i wake up in the night and she is in bed and the house is in darkness i stuggle to get back to sleep and again listen for noises!!
I mean whats up wiv me im 28 next week not 10 i have a 2 year old and i am 6 months pregnant so this worryin cant b no good for me!! I went to the docs a while ago and explained and he prescribed me some propranolol to calm me down when i start to stress out i never took any ov these on my moms advise which is good as i was pregnant (didnt know i was till 18 weeks).
I am dreading having a newborn who will wake me up in the night!! and having to sit downstairs when everyone else is in bed. I have spoken to my mom about this and she sed she will get up wiv bubs at night but thats not fair on her as she works, she insits she dont mind but thats definately a nono.
Somebody please help me :( x

As you pregnant you definitely shouldn't be taking any meds but I do however think you should go back to your GP and ask to be referred to a therapist. You need someone who you can voice your fears to and who can rationalise your fear for you. I know you spoken to your mum but speaking to a therapist will give you tools to work with. In the meantime would it worth getting an alarm system installed in your mum's house that is rigged up so that if the alarm sounds the police is notified? Would that put your mind at rest a bit?
When you think of someone breaking in, what do you think of? Burglars rarely attack people and if disturbed they will make a run for it. If someone was to break into your mum's house, I doubt very much that you would get hurt by it. But is it the intrusion you're thinking off?
Don't carry this around with you, as you mention, it probably won't do the pregnancy any favours. Look after yourself and remember there are lots of people on here who will listen

you're most welcome Hayleigh. I'm glad that your GP is taking you seriously and you're getting a referral. Hopefully you'll start to feel a bit better about things soon.
As said before, we're here to listen and come back if you have any other issues you need voicing.
Let me know how you get on with the specialist
