Lazy guests?
4 Answers
My (extended) family often come with their friends and girlfriends to stay in my house. I love having them here, but what really, really, annoys me is when they leave the bed and bedroom any old how. Am thinking of leaving a box in the room that says 'Tips for staff''. Any tips out there for dealing with this diplomatically and without me seeming like an old grouch?

I always strip the bed when we stay somewhere and fold it on the bottom as I would love it if someone did it here I AM going to be washing the stuff all bloody week ... If staying at a friends -I will pop it in the machine too! Also if a girlfriends I make the tea for the duration of the stay ... and change all the loo rolls for full ones - and put hotelesque bow or points on for a laugh at theirs.
annemollie - when staying with others, i always take a 'welcome' gift (usually a bottle or food if dinner is involved), tidy up after myself and offer to pitch in while i am there. sadly, many people i have to stay at mine are not so thoughful and i console myself by thinking that at least i don't do that to others....you may just be an old grouch! i have to say, though, that i also think evil thoughts after my untisy and ingracious house guests - but accept that some people are less conscious and house trained than i!!! deep breath...glass of wine...leave it til the morning..!!!
