Christmas
1 Answers
Christmas was always a joyous time in our family. I was grateful that when my Mother ( chronically ill with Emphysema and heart problems) died over thirty years ago (just before Christmas) she had seen and approved the presents she had asked me to buy for the family.
Since then I have tried to keep Christmas going as she would have liked.
As we have never lost sight of the real meaning of Christmas, the Church services have continued to be at the centre of our celebrations.
However all the family have moved away, my brother to the north to be near his own family etc, so now there remains just my husband and myself, and we do so much miss the joy and fun of being with those we love.
Our son lives with a partner who has no time for us at all, and his last few Christmases have been rendered miserable for him because he naturally wants to spend time with her, but also loves us and doesn't want us to feel left out so spends part of every Christmas Day with us.
So this year we have decided to go away to an Hotel.
The problem is we don't know where. We have looked at Brochures for Europe.. we fancy a snowy Christmas.
If you have been away somewhere like this yourselves and can make any recommendations, I would be so grateful.
Many thanks
