they just have an in built switch somewhere that just gets turned on and boom, the most hateful hurtful comments come out then 5 mins later they are your best mate in the world
I think the best thing you can do for them ( not as in YOU ) as in general, is not be a doormat. Guide them to be responsible adults & to be money independant. Make them stand on there own two feet. Help them out once in a while but make them appreciate how to save for what they want xxx
I know zz. Sometimes you wonder how you come to have emotionless offspring? You teach them values, but when do they respond with affection? You can only do your best.
oh well i suppose i will have to sit tight for the next couple of years cheers for advice guys im off now to eat some takeaway pizza before my teenager and 11 year old scoff the lot
My eldest is 22 and can be an absolute charmer or a complete ****. I think the reason they are so vile is that they have to trash you in order to leave you. It's their way of leaving the nest. On the bright side, I have a step son who is absolutely charming - but he has his own kids. I'm sure when they become parents they see the light and suddenly appreciate their parents. Good luck - it can only get better!
My eldest son is 18 and has just begun to change back into a human being.
My middle child (teenage girl) is rude, surly, horrid and says some hurtful things.
On Saturday night I was dressed up to the nines to go to an evening wedding reception (hair & makeup were done professionally, and I was wearing killer heels and a dress that cost a small fortune.) She looked me up and down with a sneer on her face and said
"It's no longer the 1950's you know."
I honestly believe that teenage girls are much more hurtful than there male counterparts. Boys can be 'Kevins' and uncommunicative and sullen, but girls are another matter.........................
