Maternity Allowance

Daughter been told by work that she does not qualify for SMP so will have to apply for Maternity Allowance via the Job Centre. Anyone know if this means her employers do not have to hold her job for her when she wants to return to work.

regardless of whether she is getting smp or maternity allowance your daughters employer will have to hold her job for her at least until she has finished maternity leave. then she will have to decide whether or not she wants to return to work. either way her job will be safe while she has her baby if it turns out that the employer doesnt keep her job safe she will have grounds to see a solicitor.
