friends possible adoption

just thought i would let people no, a few months ago i posted that a friend of mine who divorced after 10 years of a childless marrige 36 single wanted to adopt she has been fostering a little girl of 4 for the last few weeks with view to adoption, a lengthy procedure but athorities have told her its looking good for her and her possible new daughter im so pleased for my friend

Social services may be "allowing" her to foster the child now, but when push comes to shove I don't think they'll let the adoption go through. They'll put all kinds of problems in the way (e.g. so you fell out with your brother 8 years ago, why was that?.....Can we arrange a meeting and find out his side of the story etc etc). They may give that as the reason for turning her down, but the truth is these bl88dy do gooders will probably think she's too old!!!
They may have told her it is looking good, though I wouldn't count my chickens. Please be supportive of your friend (especially if she is let down by SS) but be aware of the points I've made.
