Can anyone recommend a car hire company in Malaga?

Needs to be a car big enough for 4 adults and a child in a car seat plus luggage.

Not sure what kind of car we'd need either space wise! If we get a 7 seater that solves the seating but not sure whether boot space would be big enough!

Don't want a hire company that charges you for a full tank of fuel and you've to take it back empty as we've been ripped off with that before and ended up using it just to get rid of the fuel!

TIA

I've been looking through the websites of some of the ten companies which offer car hire at Malaga Airport. The practice of charging for a full tank of fuel seems to be fairly standard practice for hire periods of more than a few days. For example, this firm will refund the cost of a tank of fuel, if the car is returned with a full tank, for hire periods of up to 3 days but not beyond. (Weird!):

However, I've not checked every firm on the list, so I suggest you take a look for yourself:

(Note 1: That's the first of two pages of information. The link to the second page doesn't exactly leap out at you; you need to click the small '2' at the top of the list.
Note 2: Where a link takes you to a website in Spanish, there's usually a link to an English version at the top of the page).

You should also be aware that at many European airports the companies physically present act as agents for several others. If you book through Auto Europe, for example, then at Malaga your car will be provided by Auriga Crown.

There is a dedicated car hire "hall" at Malaga, with about 9 or 10 actual companies running hire desks and HUGE queues. The quickest I've ever actually got my car there is around 50 minutes and the longest wait around 2 hours! Having said that, the system is very well organised with respect to actual collection & return of cars. We go quite a few times a year as friends have a villa at Nerja

If you don't want the "rip-off" of paying for a full tank of petrol you might not use, then you will need to book with one of the "bigger" (and much more expensive) names such as Eurocar or Hertz or Avis (all have desks at Malaga).

This is a good site for checking on worldwide car hire prices;

After being taken in by aurigacrown this Christmas (+20 for insuring tyres, windows etc +40 for petrol and a further 50 for taking the car out of Spain we'll now stick with Hertz, they work out cheaper!!
Sixt is a good car hire company in ;alage.

Thank you all for the info. After looking and finding the cheapest car the size we need being 250 plus fuel of around 100 we've decided it's not worth it!

Think we'll just get transfers and maybe just hire a car for 3 days midweek depending on where there is to go - that way we will only pay for the fuel we use and only have to get a car big enough for people, not luggage too!

Thanks again.
For 7 people, the best choice is http://www.mitaxi.net/taxi-malaga. They have standard, premium, vip and minivan services (Up to 7 people) with very very good rates.
For transfers the best choice, I think, It's http://www.mitaxi.net/taxi-malaga . They have Minivans up to 7 people with very very good rates. I booked with them in my last travel to Malaga and It was very confortable.
I have tested https://www.epictransfers.com/en/transfers-from-malaga-airport and for me is the best web for transfers and private taxis in Malaga Airport to Center, Marbella, Benalmadena, Torremolinos, Nerja, San Pedro of Alcantara, Nueva Andalucia, Mijas and all others of Costa del Sol.

The best prices at the moment, and no extra hidden cost in their rates. Meet and greet service in the airport with no extra cost.
