we have a Cavalier King Charles. He is well trained and a fantastic dog but we do have one problem we have never been able to solve. When we take him for a walk with more people than myself and my partner he will cry/yelp for the whole walk. He will also do the same crying when we walk him in a place he isn't familier with as if he always needs re assuring. If we were to take him on a walk together or just round the local park he is fine and doesn't cry at all. I persume it's a kind of anxiety but can anyone confirm this and give any hint or tips on how to stop it. We have tryed the obvious, a gentle tug on the lead, stoping when he crys, re assuring him e.t.c

dog thinks its under attack out of its own territory. Ignore it's whining and walk with confidence - it will pick up on your strength.
