Melanie.... don't do anything that will jeopardise the safety of your kids. If your former in-laws have residency and you snatch them, they will only be returned to the in-laws and your case for custody will suffer as a result. Get a solicitor and urge him/her to act fast. Get witness statements, etc. and just sit tight. It will be better for you and your kids in the long run if you don't do anything rash.

As I have said...I have a Solicitor - useless - my children are being harmed by the never ending adjournments - its been 2 years now and its just been adjourned because of stalling tactics for another 6 months. As a mother I have to do what is best for them, ie bring them home. All i would like to know is: A) Is it an arrestable offence and B) what is the punishment? thank you

YES it is an arrestable offence, and the ultimate punishment would be you being refused access to your children. Get another brief.... one who will get things moving.. You don't have to stick with the brief you have now. Get tough !!
Get the neighbours of your inlaws on your side... get SS on your side.... get the Police on your side...
Be clever - not rash !

If the children are in the legal custody of the grandparents and you 'snatched' them, you'd be in serious trouble. You might be charged with kidnapping. Your actions would be used, by the grandparents, to show that you were irresponsible and not fit to ever have the children with you.
