My Parents have been mis-sold their holiday - Agent liable or Travel Co.
My parents and aunt and uncle booked a holiday to Goa with their local travel agent, they got a receipt at the time (last Feb I believe) listing dates, flights, times, prices etc.. When the tickets arrived this week they were for two days earlier, diferent flights, carrier etc.. etc..
The agent has been sorting it out today and Thomas Cook say they notified the agent in June that the original dates/flights did not exist. It is kind of sorted now but it is down to my parents to reorganised things like parking, getting new private jabs cos the dr ones won't give them enough time to feel better they paid extra for ground floor, sea views and now this is not guaranteed.
The agent has said they will try to get some compensation from Thomas Cook - but surely the contract is with the agent - they may well be able to get reimburment from Thomas Cook but the compensation to my parents should come from the agent shouldn't it? Also, as well as actual expenses what sort of compensation should they be looking at for stress and inconvenience etc. Can anyone help?

These should explain the customer's rights along with cancellation policies etc.
As for compensation for stress and inconvenience, I am sure that no payment must be made to your parents and that any amount, whether paid in cash or in vouchers, would only be as a gesture of goodwill. I would expect any out of pocket expenses to be covered by the travel company, or failing that, by your parents' insurance provider.

I cant see how they would compensate for jabs etc as its only two days difference, why dont they try for an upgrade on their seats as a good will gesture, its along flight.
We dont bother with jabs anymore, but if its their first visit they will feel safer, beware of the anti malaria tablets that give you the runs and take plenty of roll on mosquito repellant [ from Boots], hope they enjoy their holiday. If they are not happy with their hotel rooms it will cost very little in rupees to upgrade, much cheaper than paying this end,Where are they staying ?

Have been to Goa with my partner, we both got Deli belly, I would suggest that they get some good tablets from their doctor to take with them. My partner was ill for 2 months after we got home but my doctor gave me a tablet called (MAY BE WRONG SPELLING) CiProxin, it worked very quickly and I was back at work in a week but my other half was poorly for a long time as his doctor gave him cheap medication which was no good for this. Do not let them go without these, I had a terrible flight home, in toilet every 5 minutes. What part are they going to???
