kitchen store cupboard door

just had our kitchen re-done, doing anythiong to the old store cupboard wasn't part of the deal, so we now have a new kitchen with a cupboard/larder that has no door. see pic - http://yfrog.com/n2image0156gj It's an odd size [opening is 1730mm x 605mm] so nothing "off the shelf" fits.

] - ours is tyrone beech, will supply a combination of doors, but they won't fit the opening either.

So what's our best option? one large door, maybe contrasting colour? two small doors at the top and two larger below? [I'm thinking hinged either side to meet in the middle]? If we just get bog standard plain door, and cut it up would that work? Any ideas please? Thanks folks.

If you want to go the whole hog (and the cupboard is the same depth as the kitchen), remove the two walls that make-up the cupboard and refit with the base units and worktop running further left into the whole of that space. Run the new wall units as far along as the sloped wall will allow, then put a open shelf into the remaining gap.
Otherwise I reckon it is a contrasting coloured door - there is no point trying to make it look as if it is the same of the rest of the new fitted doors.

I agree with BM. It certainly would look right if the cupboard was taken out and the new units continued. I wouldn't try to match up with the Premier doors ........... quite a lot of work and fiddling ............. and it would still stand out.
I would fit a plain flush door cut to size............... paint it in with the walls to "lose" it completely.............. those stainless steel "T"-bar handles are readily available ........ fit a long one of those (say 450mm - 600mm) ............ with 100mm satin chrome hinges .......... it'll look right.
It isn't necessary to "match" everything up in every case.

Thanks guys. We would've taken the cupboard out [and probably will in the future] but were told at the outset, we couldn't [we're council tenants]. Costs constraints wouldn't let this feature in the plans under the facelift the kitchen got as part of "decent homes 21"

After the work was almost finished, one of the surveyor's said if we had done this ourselves - it's only breeze block and not a supporting wall - they would have made it good! DOH! Didn't think matching up was an option and as both buillder's say, a plain door or maybe two will stop it being such an eyesore. Thanks guys. Oh and WILL, I'll pass on the parrot option, the dog would have it for lunch.
