Who's name is the house in?

If you have the keys it's is not breaking in. I don't know the exact law but if Sqatters can get into properties and refuse to leave I can't see how you wouldn't be able to get in and get your stuff.
I believe you are entitled to a 50/50 share of everything but that might mean the bills as well. Post your question again under LAW where you should find someone that will know for sure. Good luck.
As long as you dont brake in you go get your things, make sure you only take whats yours and leave the place as you find it,

I have a friend that missed her chance to get her things, her ex put them all on the bonfire, her solicitor said she should have took them when she could have, but she didnt like to just take them being the nice lady she is.
go get them.

hope your daughter doesnt get it from her dad giving you the key though!
