Giving birth at 48?
65 Answers
It seems that John Travolta's wife Kelly has just given birth aged 48!
Now I have no children, and in fact have never been pregnant, but something seems wrong here.
I know we women CAN have babies late but something in this seems odd to me.
Not that long after(sadly) losing their son she amazingly produces another child,as to replace the other.
Was it conceived by IVF,or surrogacy,we will probably never know the truth(especially given that they are Scientologists)
Any thoughts welcome.
I apologise if this sounds hard.

I think that's she's 48 is niether here nor there, many couples go the IVF route for whatever reasons and I only hope that they have more luck than they've had to date- I'm not quite sure what you're problem is with it- are bereaved parents never supposed to have further children, if so why?

"we will probably never know the truth"
I should think not. Why would anyone feel obliged to announce to the world how their child was conceived?
If having a second child affter one has died is 'replacing' it, does that mean having a second child when the first is alive means you are disappointed in the first one so have decided to try to improve on it? Or does it just mean you've had a second child...

I have recently lost a child, i would like to have another at some point. However, my beautiful daughter can never be "replaced" and if i ever got pregnant again i certainly wouldn't think of it as just replacing what i don't have. It will be a brother or sister for her and if i am ever lucky enough to be a mum again, that child will grow up knowing about their sister as she was so significant (ok, so not to the world, but to us). I will probably have to have IVF to get pregnant again and i certainly hope that it happens sooner than 2 years (which incidentally has been how long it is since their son died) Doesn't seem all that soon to me,
to me your question does sound hard because it feels like you are suggesting that me wanting another child as they did is something "wrong"
