give her some vouchers for your time. To be spent when she needs a hand with housework, gardening etc.

Go for a walk together, or go window shopping.

Without spending money?! Probably nothing, I'm a bit old to start making her a card out of glitter and pasta.
Cook her dinner...pamper her.
Why would you not spend any money on your dear ol Mum ?
I wish i'd have spent a bit more time with mine after i married. She's been dead a few years now. It's only now i realise that i'm a lot older that being with your mum would have made her day. So many regrets, but you can't turn back time.
Bake her a lovely cake and meet up for a chat and a cuppa
I can't say ... my Mum reads this sometimes.
I would cook her a lovely meal and have it with her , then I would set to and do all those jobs I know are too much for her , like window cleaning , washing the tiles in the kitchen , whilst she watched a DVD and maybe had a little wine and a snooze.
daftgrandad - the OP might be a teenager with no money..
Aww, China, you're never too old for that! :p

You could just help out around the house, cook dinner and sit and watch one of her favourite films together.
ummm, that thought had already occured to me,before I posted.
Trim her moustache...

So if the thought occurred to you, how do you suggest the OP gets some money that they might not have?
ummm.Without getting into a free for all with you, which you seem hell bent on,after your remarks this morning, most children today,if indeed it applies in this case, seem to have money.
Unfortunately, the thread was pulled today, otherwise we could have had a " good "
discussion.
just to have her here today would be enough I would say,
we could say all the nice things that were left unsaid, I didn't have a chance to say Goodbye to her
Pardon? Seem hell bent on what?

I know enough youngsters that do not have money to spend. It's not a great climate to be upping, or even giving, children pocket money..

In answer to the post this morning...I did NOT indicate that you were saying that Jack had the bone. But when you say 'you two' call it quits is like saying she had some control over what was being thrust at her.
