What hardy perrennials are always on tap in your area? I'm not talking the usual 4 pump clips of Fosters, Guiness Extra Cold, Stella and John Smiths. I'm talking what pubs think of as real ale but tend to be a bit samey.

Round here its all Fullers London Pride and Marston Pedigree or Greene King IPA. Bit annoying as these breweries are capable of brewing decent beers (apart from Greene King) Would be nice to see a Fullers ESB or Marstons Old Empire for a change.

On the upside since Fullers took over Gales at least HSB is more available. Even though they closed Gales brewery in Horndean and moved production up to Chiswick the taste hasnt changed. Unlike when Greene King got its hands on Old Speckled Hen.

Theakstons Old Peculiar ....that takes me back.
Apparently I would have to travel 12 miles to get a pint of that now.

Sam Smith's Ayingerbrau Pils, is nice if on form. There are times I don't remember going home when I used to drink that.

I think real ale should not be served chilled and I prefer mine room temperature would you agree?

I understand the relocation package for 80,000,000 gnats from London to Tadcaster cost a fortune when the Red Barrel factory closed ...

We had a local pub which was useless until it turned into a Greene King and I was able to get Abbot on tap. The pub closed and is now a solicitor's office. Boo! The other pubs only have bottled Newkie Broon, which I have to make do with now.

Quite a lot of our locals have closed down but the Sam Smith's house is popular, usually people stood outside waiting for opening time, cheapest pub place in West Yorkshire.
