that simple is it?
Is there thing called OVD. ? Think that's what gramps used to get
I went to a rum tasting last year and found that Sailor Jerry was amongst my favourites, not to mention readily available in Waitrose.
I think so Ed. ........Can I change my name now please? lol
Moonie.....to moonshine perhaps ??? Lol
Agree with moony, can't beat a Captain Morgans.
my hubby recommends Lambs navy rum, also woods100, Black Heart, these are nice dark rums. you can get those easily enough in there are a few others but they more difficult to get.
Remember that my hubby drank OVD when we were in Dundee but when we went up north to visit his sister and her family it was Watson's rum the pubs stocked.
Did not realise the navy tot ration was half a pint !!! Streuth...our fleet must have been well pi$$ed....
Capt Morgan??? if you can find it and afford it

If not Woods is better than CM Gosling is nice and Old monk is interesting
OMG Katburd, didn't know there were so many. My brother, ex navy, swore by Pussers Rum. I thought he was swearing but it really does exist. Pricey though. I like the occasional bacardi and coke.
I believe the finest rum on the market is Pussers Navy Rum.This rum is distilled to the original recipe by the same Caribbean distillery that supplied Her Majestys Brittanic Navy until the abolition of the daily rum ration or tot.It is unbeatable, little pricey compared to other good rum such as Wood's Navy Rum which would be my second choice.Sailor Jerry is a spiced rum which is pleasant but a little sweet for a discerning dark rum drinker.Sailor Jerry is not a dark rum which was the subject of your enquiry.Ask any old Royal Navy matelot about Pusser's rum.Pusser means,by the way in naval jargon, the real thing, the real McCoy etc.I believe sold in John Lewis and other vintners.Look it up on the web.
I agree, Pusser's is the best.
Beware though, it is 54.5% alcohol (dissolves the bones in your legs :0) )
yes maggiebee, Pusser's is very expensive, there was another called "Four Bells Rum" used to have to go to a shop in Falkirk for that one, but now they can't get it.
Pussers navy rum is supposed to be very good. I have to buy a couple of bottles a year for a ceremony and i was going to get lambs and got a proper telling off :-)
I have to go Hosp.app. now will look in later and find out which Rum AB Editor decides upon. bye
Lamb's ??

That is rough as the proverbial !
