Pierre Darcys Brut NV (from Paul Laurent) reduced from £24.25 to £10 Jilly Goolden says it is buttery but I think it tastes like Granny Smith apples. a champagne that tasts like Granny Smiths? No thanks. I wouldn't mind Jilly's one that tastes buttery, though...

Tesco are also doing a blanquette de Limoux, which is sort of champagne's grandfather - probably the world's first sparkling wine; I think Dom Perignon started out making it, then developed champagne. I got a few bottles in yesterday
