I agree Zeuhl..I've lost a stone in six weeks ,and am on a more moderate low carb diet than Atkins. I am eating meat,fish,eggs,poultry,cheese,butter, olive oil,veg, berries and moderate amounts of whole grain bread and brown rice...and feel better than I have in a long time.
I have a work colleague who swears by the cabbage soup diet-how extreme it is I've no idea,but I know she has protein added to it for one of her daily meals.
