i dont know if its true but i should say it is, coz i have stepped on a rake b4 and it popped up and gave me a bruise on my forehead, so wotever u see on these cartoons has 2 b true!!!!

Well, I did know someone who slipped on an orange skin as a child, which actually caused lifetime damage to his leg & hip. So a fruit skin, anyway!

I didn't think it ever happened until a couple of years ago I saw a guy slip on one just outside Cannon Street station  in London. Unlike the 'comedy' versions he didn't go over backwards but in a kind of sideways sprawl and would have ended up in the road in front of a bus if it wasn't for the fact that a road sign pole got in his way. So yes they do happen but they ain't always funny.

Yes, 3.5 years ago and I am still suffering from leg and hip problems as a result!

We used to put them down on flat tiles in the school corridor and slide up the corridors on them.  if they are placed wet side down on a smooth floor they are lethal!

not three weeks ago i was in the high street in exeter when a man came walking round the corner, slipped on a banana skin and fell flat on his backside. He couldn't believe it, and neither could i! He got up and conjectured that dom joly must be hiding round the corner with tv cameras!

so yes, people have done i have seen it with my own eyes

I never thought it would ever happen to me, but I did slip on a banana skin once in Asda's car park. Never saw the banana skin that some kindly person had thrown onto the tarmac...I fell flat on my back, it did hurt,pride and all, and a few choice words erupted from my mouth when I realised what I'd slipped on. I also felt extremely foolish and hoped nobody had seen me!!
