I`m cooking one of those Aldi curry mixes that people rave about. I`ve just tested it and I`m not very impressed. It`s really sharp and tastes like they`ve put half a gallon of lemon juice in it. What can I use to counteract the sharpness? I don`t want to put sugar in because I can`t stand anything sweet/savoury.

A couple of tablespoons of single cream perhaps?

I was thinking that Philtaz. I`ve got some half fat creme fraiche that needs to be used up. I wondered if there is anything else though.
ooh, what aldi curry mixes are these 237sj?
A little bit of oil or butter may take the edge of it
I would have used cream - but creme fraiche should work and some garam masala if you have any

loooby they`re called Bilash and I went to Aldi specially to get one! They have powder in the lid that you fry the meat with, then sauce in the jar. I have the rogan one. I wouldn`t bother if I was you though. Patak`s are much better and Meena Patak does one which is nice. I`m not going to eat it tonight. It`s for freezing and when I eat it I`ll put lots of coriander and chilli in to obliterate the taste.
I like these Aldi curry sauces, my fave is Jalfrezi and I usually add chillies to mine.
ok, thanks 237sj
