Just watching his 30 minute meals. Why does he put so much olive oil on things? Do any of you put olive oil on top of stuff?

I never do, it would make me feel sick
very big here in spain, just ask sqad,
i usually splash a drop on my salads, but the average spaniard pours about 1/2 a cup on theirs
Being Italian we throw olive oil onto almost anything! I love his recipes lol
Yes, we use quite a lot.

It would make me feel sick as well. I can understand in dressings but on top of things....yuk.
Things like pesto sauce for pasta already have quite a dollop in, already.
I like a drop mixed with balsamic vinegar tossed into my salad, but that's about it!.......
I don't use olive oil at all.

I tend to use butter and or veg oil.
You must be joking!

I have also noticed this and remarked to my family how his meals surely cannot be healthy with all that oil on them. It is a little off putting.

It's quite sickening isn't funny? One of the programmes he made a mackerel pate...and tipped loads of olive oil on top...
Olive oil is high in health benefits,and is not as processed as other vegetable oils.

Good to cook with for its health benefits and also flavour, have been using it for some years now.

It has *flavour*...something most other vegetable oils don't really have.

I know that pasta.....It's the amount he tips on his food after it has been cooked.
I put extra virgin oil and a squeeze of lime on rocket and nothing else.

I think I've put chilli oil on a pizza/pasta before at zizi's but I don't remember. It's a while since I've been there.
He uses about 4 lemons per recipe too, would give me dreadful heartburn.
