I don't know, sherrard, but jelly's already available in many colours...?

Hi boxtop - I am using it for my son to make a model of a human cell. Plain gelatin for the middle, then a light green layer and then a dark one (with midget gems for the bits).
yes it will. you use such a small amount of food colour that it won't have any affect at all on the setting properties.
Isn't your son the one who is supposed to make it?

Are you sure the animal cell has a green layer? I thought it was only the plant cell that had the green parts?

First bit was a big failure. Now using twice as much gelatin and moulding in a small plastic pot. Fingers crossed!
