If you're working shifts and have a can at 9am to help you sleep through the day then no, but if you sleep through the night and start drinking at 9am only to pass out during LKToday, then probably yes she should be worried.

First five days holiday from what?  And where are you?

And I would yes that yes your mum has every right to be worried, mum's worry about everything it's their job.

First of five days on holiday from work- only a can of kronenburg- and simply because it was a lovely day to  have a can in the garden! ps normyc however amusing i find that, i know she definately wouldnt! cheers peeps!

Depends how many more you are planing to open.
Good idea I thought - holidays are to relax and do diferent things and enjoy yourself.
At least they are till you have to spend them decorating

being worried about thier kids is what mums do. i see no harm in having a can of beer at 9am on a nice day if that's what you fancy. it'd be worrying if continued to drink through the whole day, but if not then it's fine. I had a can of beer to celebrate my A level results at about 10am...

As long as you don't start doing that before you go to work on a normal day, who cares!!

Holidays are for fun and relaxing whether you're abroad or not!

I don't think the time you open your beer has as much to do with how much you drink.  If you start at 9AM and finish a six-pack by noon, well, yes, she should probably worry.  Otherwise, some folks start out their day with a drink like others have a cup of coffee.  Moderation is the key.
