Everytime I come back from visiting family in Cyprus i bring back bottles of red wine called Kokkinelli. I love the stuff, its quite sweet - but heavy - almost like neat Rossi Martini (red) . Anyone have a clue about a supplier back here in the UK or anything similar I could try?

Don't know if you live anywhere near Green Lanes in North London, but there are loads of Greek Cypriot shops there.
My bf recently discovered Island Vine Cyprus Red in our little corner Co-op one evening when wed run out at home. Hed never tried a Cypriot wine before but now buys this particular wine most of the time (it's only 3.99 too). Im not a big fan of red wine, but this one I actually enjoy as it is fairly sweet, but not insipid, and doesnt leave a vinegary aftertaste like many do (to my taste buds anyway).
Have you tried Mavrodaphne of Patras? Sounds very similar to what you have described. You can buy it in most supermarkets and wine merchants and it costs around 4. Very nice indeed!

I will give them a go.

Thanks all!

you might like to try tesco californian cabernet sauvignon. i'm not a red wine fan, but my cypriot friend introduced me to this and it's nice, with no chemical taste - which most wines seem to have nowadays :o)
