My wife was a ridiculously fussy eater, she was a yolk eater only too, plus all foods had to be as dry as possible and not touch foods of a different type on her plate, and she couldn't stand anything soggy, so egg on toast was actually two plates one with the eggs and one with the toast so they didn't soggy the bread.
I only eat the yellow bit of an egg, I don't think it's that uncommon. I cut sausages the wrong way too apparently, down the middle first and then in to little segments. And I save a bit to eat last that has my favourite bit of the meal in it.
My son won't eat anything that has been touched by other food, he has beans in a separate dish. The joys of having a child with Asperger's Syndrome. lol :)
I can't stand olives or oysters. But generally I'll eat owt that's put in front of me. I had no option when I was a kid, there was no 'Goldilocks syndrome' in my parents house.
mrs kou will take a piece of chicken the size of a thumbnail and cut it into at least seven smaller pieces to eat it. apparently this is to check for gristle.
My cousin used to put salad cream on everything, literally everything, Sunday lunch, rice pudding you name it! Haven't seen him for years but I hope he's grown out of it by now.
We had a Norwegian friend to stay many years ago and she requested a poached egg on toast for breakfast; imagine my children's faces when she removed the egg from the toast, nonchalantly spread jam on the toast and replaced the egg!!
My dad told me that the stalk end of a banana could have spider's eggs in it as the spiders deposit their eggs in the banana flowers which is where the actual banana develops from.....I eat a banana almost every day and always without fail break off the first inch or so of it and bin it with the skin.....that was well over 70 years ago....and I still can't bring myself to eat that bit....daft I know.
