Mixed roast veg - carrots, snips, spuds & onion - all in together with some olive oil & rosemary

Apple sauce

Something green - savoy cabbage perhaps

Lambs shanks, yes. Have seen the pork shanks in the shop(s) but haven't yet got around to trying them.

its a very common dish, its lush

chop cabbage and peel and cube apple put in a pan with a little water, vinegar (red wine) and sugar then cook slowly for a few hours

along the lines vodka proposed, mash, colcannon or a nice sauerkraut......go for a nice Alsatian wine if the latter.....
