Reading Robert's post about his father made me think about the number of plates of food that must have been thrown at people over time.
I can honestly say that I have never thrown anything at anyone in a temper and if I did, I don't think it would be a plate of food.

Maybe I'm too easy going.

Have you ever thrown a plate of food, or anything else, in a fit of temper?

Hmmm, I don't think so..... but I do vividly recall my father throwing a block of cheese at my mother during an argument, when I was about eight.
E damn!
I threw some tomatoes at Mrs Zacs and it gave her concussion.
did he say "It went past-your-eyes"?
I recall it as a very angry session, it was mostly about the cost of cheese and it was very scary to an 8-year-old.
That was gouda you
They were still in the tin.
Custard pie anyone? :o)
my old man was a good example of that, throwing stuff, violent outbursts and a general aggressive nature
Tossed a pancake once, and chuck steak

Beneath this stone, lies a bloke named Jim
Somebody threw a tomato at him
Now tomatoes are soft and they don't bruise the skin
But this one was wrapped in a tin.
My Mum launched a pressure cooker full of stew at my Dad during an argument. He ran out the kitchen and the door took the hit. The resulting crack was there for years a permanent reminder of the event.

Who cleaned the mess up, snags?
If I remember correctly the lid stayed on and when things calmed down we all sat down and ate.

Blimey, that was lucky.
Oh dear...my ex husband would testify I was prone to throwing things when angry plates, pans, glasses. fruit/veg and the carving knife which embedded in the door about an inch from his ear..... I'm a lot calmer now
No .....can't say that I have.........

My guardians never threw plates of food.......as far as I know.........Mrs sqad and myself never resorted to throwing plates of food.

Can't comment on the married kids as i don't know.

I always found that a "good slap" was the adult and sensible way to settle arguments and it didn't cause a mess on the floor or walls........usually.;-)
a testament to the importance of not buying cheap, shoddy cooking utensils, snags
LOL SQAD //I always found that a "good slap" was the adult and sensible way to settle arguments and it didn't cause a mess on the floor or walls........usually.;-) //
Are we really allowed to say things like that anymore? I think you must belong to my generation when "a good slap" solved everything - especially in schools! I often had a good whack on the hand with the blackboard rubber :)
Ann....yes, I think tha tone is allowed to say it. but i doubt whether one would be allowed to get away with saying it....;-)

Me too.....I was brought up on slaps as a corrective measure......both at school and at home.
