If you have a large saucepan or deep saute pan then you can fry chips, just make sure you keep an eye on them.

I would soak them in plain water for a short while before you fry them. Dont even think about doing them in the oven - you can use any pan to fry them so long as you keep your eye on them. The main thing is to make sure that after soaking them, they are completely dry. Use either a clean tea towel, or lots of kitchen paper to make them dry, then fry them in hot oil till golden. Soaking them first removes the starch, so they shouldn't stick together.
Thank you so much for your useful answers. I couldnt get back to puter, so I soaked the thinly cut chips in cold salted water for a few hours, then I rinsed them. Then i blanched them. Then I used 1 dessert spoon of olive oil, sprinkled with sea salt, placed them on pre heated oventray, on high till brown. They were lovely!
