Me neither. Brendan didn't do anything wrong all through the series apart from those French Fancies in the final. I would be gutted if I was him.

All the way through I felt the judging was level headed and fair and then that.

Given that this is a knock-out competition, the result was based on the final programme - not the whole series. So I believe the right person won.
Anyway, Scotsman James was far too slap-dash and casual and as for the Irish guy - self-congratulatory/smug doesn't even cover it.

I was suprised too. I did think Brendan deserved to win, although I actually preferred the scottish fella in terms of my personal favourite.

I think they were all very talented, but I think that Brendan should have won, given that he was the most consistent over the series. I know he was a bit smug at times, but his cooking was very good!
I think it was such a shame that James had the problems in the final or I think he would have given Brendan a real run for his money.
They all seemed talented, but I thought that John was the outsider and I am not sure that he was the right choice to win this years competition.
I don't necessarily agree with the thought that it is a knock out competition and therefore John deserved to win as he was the best on the day. I think in the heats during the series, some of the contestants (including John) were saved, even though they had disasters which should have knocked them out, due to the fact that in previous weeks, they proved they were good bakers.
