Apparently we are having roast chicken - no starters but there are always loads of nibbles and a choice of about 4 puds plus cheese. But on Boxing Day I have to do roast turkey etc for us. I am actually considering that given the amount of food my mum will feed us on Christmas day, I just get cheese, pate and biscuits in for Boxing day.
We had our family Christmas dinner on Sunday, as not everyone is around on Christmas day.
We had:
Stilton and parmesan parcels (got it from a Nigel Slater program the other night), Brushetta topped with sweet red pepper sauce and welsh goats cheese, Prosecco. (had that whilst we opened presents)
Venison and Whiskey paté on toast, rocket salad.
Turkey, dauphinoise potatoes, petit pous with leeks and pancetta, cocktail sausages in bacon, stuffing, honey and mustard parsnips, carrots and gravy.
Christmas pud (which I somehow manged to burn and it ended up rock solid) brandy butter/brandy sauce. individual Boozy trifles - which, judging by everyone's faces, had too much booze in them.
There were cheeses, but nobody wanted them.
