Great with sausages or cold meat. Ever tried a pancake with stuffing and cranberry sauce or jelly?

I love cranberry sauce and eat it all year round - it's especially delicious with roast chicken! And mixed with a bit of orange juice and mint sauce, it's perfect with roast lamb. Or try it in a sandwich - Wensleydale cheese with cranberry sauce on granary bread is yum yum yum!
Plowter, you don't need to buy it in jars.

Buy some fresh or frozen berries, add maybe two ounces of water to 400g, with a table spoon of sugar or honey and a squeeze of lemon juice. Gently bring up to a simmer for five mins -that's it. You can season it with any combo orange zest, cinnamon, port (no chance here, that's gone) pepper, and then just freeze leftovers for a month or so. Much cheaper
My favourite sandwich is turkey, cream cheese and cranberry. It sounds odd, but it works
Deep fried Brie with cranberry sauce or Brie and cranberry wontons made from filo pastry
Add it to rice pudding - use it like jam, I love it all the year round.

Had a fun afternoon making cranberry jelly.
Smell was wonderful - reminded me of when my gran used to make the bramble jelly.
First attempt was too bitter, think I boiled the berries to death.
Second attempt was a reasonable balance of sugar and berry.
Third attempt - added some apple pulp. Turns out quite tasty.
Used every bowl and pot in the flat - Mrs P not happy.
make a sauce with the jelly, port and a dash of balsamic vinegar and marinade pork chops in it
It's lovely added to plain yoghurt or add as a filling in a ham sandwich
