MY 13 YEAR OLD DAUGHTERS LEMON DRIZZLE CAKE IS USUALLY TO DIE FOR ..........NOT LAST NIGHTS THOUGH. WHY HAS THE MIDDLE NOT COOKED IT DID NOT RISE AND WAS VERY HEAVY AND STODGY IN THE MIDDLE ...ASE HELP

oven not hot enough, old flour?

It could be due to a number and infinite combination of reasons.....

Not enough air beaten into mix at beginning.
Not enough raising agent or stale raising agent.
Mix has air knocked out before getting to the oven.
Oven not hot enough.
Not cooked for long enough.
