Tesco have just announced that after July all the chicken products in their supermarkets will be British. So where is the chicken coming from that they are selling now. It's very frightening where some of there products come from

I think I read that there's a lot of chicken from Brazil goes into prepared foods.
Not Tesco but the chicken that goes into a delicious, nutritious and filling sandwich named after the New York underground arrives in boxes from Indonesia.
Mmmmmmmm, long haul chook.
South America for most processed stuff - and some whole or portioned chicken from the EU (mostly Holland)
Don't know specific retailers but I do know a lot of our chicken comes from Taiwan where they have very little in the way of animal health regulations. Probably goes into processed foods like pies and soups.
I always though that those chickens flew in from China and then stamped with the Union Jack. Who would believe anyone else in the world could breed chickens like they do here. A chicken is a chicken no matter where it comes from. Coward of the county???
I always thought here was more coffee in Brazil Sandy!
Our chickens live in luxury compared to those from the far east. Hardly any regulations at all.
'There', And I forgot the comma after Brazil, sorry.
They've got an awful lot of coffee in Brazil, right enough. But their veterinary standards might mean the chicken meat they sell us is full of drugs.

I think a lot comes in from Thailand
Revive the high street. Buy at the local butchers.
I wouldn't shop at Tescos if you paid me and only buy chicken from a local butcher who can trace all his meat back to source .
And this is why I can't remember the last time I bought meat from a supermarket!
I buy from marks and waitrose. British chicken with welfare standards. Our local butcher is carp.
Not being funny but if you were that concerned you would being buying chicken that only travels in UK - it is clearly marked!!
McDonalds meat comes from Russia - true
I wouldn't shop at Tesco either Shaney. After nearly chocking to death on some very suspect blue rope stuff in one of their Pizza's and being told "tough" (in so many words,) I've never shopped with them again.
Yeah, I got a leaflet with today's shopping delivery. I am quite fussy when it comes to chicken and eggs, though.
Can you provide some evidence to support that claim Connemmara?
Yes I know the young manager that works in one of them so there.
