Days like this stay with you forever - Still got bro and sil here, and parents came down, Brood here with GF's - we all went out, had a sandwich by the river, spent a fortune on special sausages, burgers and kebabs in Ludlow, come home I've just made a tomato and basil salad with lemon and pesto dressing, some coleslaw and a green salad. Boiled some new potatoes and put butter and freshly chopped parsley over them, cranked up the BBQ with charcoal about an hour and 40 minutes ago so we should be eating in a little over half an hour.
Mr Giggles the baby thinks I'm the bee's knee's trying him with all these new flavours - banana and yoghurt yesterday today fresh sweet mango and baby rice - you should see how excited he gets, bless!
Sounds lovely :-)
I've spent the afternoon at a BBQ (the second day in a row) and had some lovely food and a couple of glasses of Pimms too. My friends have got the most amazing house, in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by countryside. The kids were entertained by a magician... although my youngest seemed more interested in the peacocks wandering around.
Can't stop laughing here - 'Thomas' my neighbour's 3 year old grandson isn't in the slightest bit impressed with Mr Giggles (6 months)- He's just said to me - he doesn't say much, does he?!!!
No flames, just red hot embers, flames mean burnt on outside raw in middle. About an hour 10 mins is usually fine, it's a big BBQ start off with the thinnish burgers and put fatter sausages and kebabs in middle - alway we start anything chicken i the real oven and cook till 3/4 cooked then put on the BBQ for the smoky out-door cooked taste to finish. It was all yummy and properly cooked!!
I've had a weekend which has been very memorable for all the right reasons. Great time in the lakes with new and old friends. Helping out at a charity do back home. A trip out for lunch today and the chilling tonight.
