Spent £84. No fags no booze just groceries. There are only two of us and neither of us are big eaters. We do like our veg, but little meat. I wonder how family's with kids manage or do they not buy fresh meat and veg.
Have you got a local market near you? In Sainsburys I can pay over £1 for an avocado but if I go to the market, I can get 4 avocados for £1. I paid 80p for the smallest red pepper you have ever seen in Sainsburys yesterday
I know craft, but I am very picky if that's the right word. Mic is ill so I try to buy the best for him. I did buy booze and fags but in a different shop.
I shop on line each week at Tesco, there are only 2 of us & we're not big eaters and my shopping bill is £80 - £85 each week.
My daughter shops in Lidle (2 kids 2 adults) her bill is roughly the same.''jem
We starve most days.....as I've been off work with my back, I no longer have overtime money which paid for my food! The boy is the only one who eats these days and uses his student loan to do that.....makes me feel quite guilty x
We don't buy anything processed really like ready meals or pre done stuff but I think that actually makes living cheaper, although everything has gone up a huge amount in the last year. You can make a stew for example for well under £3.00, likewise a Shepard's Pie and we buy as much as possible in bulk, reduced or from Aldi / Lidl because the quality is better and it's cheaper.
