For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I've only had green thai curry out of a jar so don't know what it's really like, but Saturday night went out for a meal and tried Red Beef Thai curry, I wouldn't say it was hot but was very strong and the flavours too overpowering for me. It's not spicy in the hot sense, but had lots of ginger and lemongrass (which I'm not a big fan of anyway) but was very creamy. I don't think Green curry is that hot, but then, like I say, I have only tried the jars. Hope this helps.
No way! Yellow is the mildest! I always thought red was the hottest�
The sauces from jars generally aren�t that hot, and a lot of Thai restaurants over here tone the curries down to suit the typical Brits wimpy palette! I�ve had both green and yellow curry in Thailand and the yellow was quite rich and creamy, but the green had me physically sweating it was that hot!!!

as sub sub said, neither is hotter it is just one uses red chillis and the other green chillis (yellow curries use yellow chillies!). the difference is in taste. a red chilli is sweeter and not as sour as a green chilli - think red peppers and green peppers.
how hot the curry is depends on how much chilli is in there. very often in thai restaurants if you explain you don't like it too hot they will not as add as much chilli
