Please can someone tell me how to cook a squash and can I oven bake it ? Thank you.

You've not said which type of squash you're referring to. Squashes tend to cook like potatoes but quicker, depending on the thickness of the flesh.
So like spuds, they do well for a dollop of olive oil then bake in the oven until tender and crispy at the edges.
I'll be round with a plate and a fork later.
I usually roast butternut after brushing it with olive oil. Then I scrape out the flesh and make soup or have it mashed with butter, pepper and a little horseradish which goes well with a roast.
