Freezing Cakes

Has any of you good people ever frozen a baked fruit cake, I am helping to organise a MacMillan coffee morning, so I am trying to get ahead of myself by baking twice a week. thankyou.

It's doable grannie, go for it. Wrap it in a couple of layers x
rich fruit cakes don't need freezing, just wrap in baking parchment, then in foil and store in an airtight tin.
I've taken advantage of these fruit slabs of cake many times & put them in the freezer x

I believe the right thing to do is what woofgang suggests, then moisten it up with a drop or ten of brandy. That's what my old mum used to do with Christmas cake donkeys' years ago.
