I started a vegan diet about six months ago as I thought it would be very healthy and I never liked meat much anyway, but this last couple of months I have been suffering from stomach bloating. Have any other vegans had this problem and can you give me any tips of what I may be doing wrong. Thanks.
I have been a vegetarian for about 40 years, never attempted Vegan as I like my dairy too much. Could be just a bug which is going round or maybe if its just a bloaty feeling, it could be you're intolerant of something. Maybe something you eat a lot more of now like wheat or nuts, or maybe something that is new to you.
I'm guessing but would suggest you may not be doing anything actually wrong as such. Your gut bacteria may have changed to favour a different set of them, which, in turn, may be creating more gas ? Just a thought. Check what it is you are eating and see if you can identify from when it's worse whether a particular food or food group is triggering the discomfort.
