Saw on today's 'Come Dine With Me' that the contestants moved from house to house for each course of the meal. This brought back recollections of my parents and their fund-raising cronies who used to do this back in the 70s, but I can't remember what these so called 'fests' were called. Any ideas?

Thanks everybody, Mints mention of 'gadabouts' rang a bell, I think they were known as 'Guzzlers Gadabouts' locally.
