Completely unscientific (and rather unxexpected given my predilection for good wine and Malt Scotch) but the jury at Chateau Ensoleillé has awarded this years prize to

RUMBULLION

An astonishingly good spiced rum - I have to admit I bought it because the bottle looked marvellous, but the drink inside is pure after-dinner nectar.

Sloe Gin .... mmmmm :)
tia maria for me
My French colleague bought me a bottle of Chablis, first time I've ever tried it and have to say, I'm sold. Absolutely delicious.

Aldi have a good one at the moment, rocky - vv nice.
no its wasted in coffee, i like it neat out of the fridge
I don't have an Aldi near me, unfortunately. :(

Too posh, rocky, too posh :)
If only, we've got a Lidl ;)
Question Author
Good stuff that, jno

The only disappointments I've had from Aldi's wine have been when they're too far out of their comfort zone. The £15 Brunello I had yesterday with my Christmas Lunch was ... OK ... but not worth the price.
I'm actually currently drinking an English Harbour rum and coke. Slipping down nicely
champagne with a good slosh of cranberry liqueur.

Now that sounds good, woofie - like it :)
A nice vintage port.
Question Author
Rum and Coke needs sunshine and a well tanned barman/maid to serve it ... seems wrong in chilly England.
Question Author
Am I dreaming, or was there once a drink called Starboard?
Yes it was for Conservative supporters.
