Thawing Out Chicken...

I took out a couple of chicken breasts, but only at 2 o'clock, so they're still pretty rock solid right now.
Is there any way I can thaw them out quicker, as I don't think they'll be much good if I now put them in the fridge for tomorrow.

I saw a lady on Come Dine once run them under a hot tap. Would this be ok to do or do I risk making myself ill?
They're in individual bags so I was thinking maybe put those in a bowl of warm water?

Chicken that has been frozen won't have the bacteria OG is referring to so it is safe to wash.

Defrost them with cold water
Plastic bags aside, I don't think you can discount bacteria in frozen chicken

You can cook chicken breasts from frozen you know, you wont die, just add 50%more to the cooking time.
Google 'cooking chicken breasts from frozen'.
If you are using them for a curry /stew/casserole you can cook them from frozen. put them in a bowl and cover them in liquid and cook.
The problem with frozen chicken arises when it is still on the bone.
I read this in a magazine a few months ago, and have been using it myself since then. Place chicken breast/s in a Ziploc bag and place in hot (about 60 degrees, just hotter than 'hand hot') water. This is now deemed a safe method of defrost, because it is getting cooked straight after defrosting. I live on my own, and if I fancy a quick stir fry, this method is genius.

I've been defrosting chicken breasts in boiling water for years, and never once suffered any adverse results.

P.S. Obviously I do then cook them properly.
Why not slice them up and fry them -it does not matter if they are still a bit solid inside as when you slice the the inside will become the outside and they will get cooked through. I often do this and never been ill.
