They must be hunting both deer and haggis together to keep the price low, frowned on by traditionalists but such is life in the modern world.

Caran...managed to get the last packet of sausages this morning...going like hot cakes ! But there was still a huge pile of Haggises left !

Not tasted the sausages yet...intend to have them for tea on Friday.

You cost me an hour out of my day, Caran. That's how long it took me to find them in the Stowmarket Lidl. (Remember I'm male. It's against the code of men to actually ask where things are!). They certainly weren't selling well there, probably because they'd both been shoved into a tiny space in the corner of the store furthest from the entrance, where hardly anyone will notice them!

I decided against the haggis for today, simply because I've still got half a can of haggis (on offer at £1 per can in Asda) waiting to be used up. But I've split a pack of venison sausages into two and put them in my freezer, for future use in a red wine-based casserole.

My problem with shopping in Lidl though is that I nearly always end up buying something from the 'weekly offers' display that I never intended to buy. Oh well, I suppose the pair of shoes will come in handy one day!

The venison stri fry in Aldi tonight looked good - but we avoided the Haggis Ready Dinner at 89p, it looked a bit - ready-dinner-y.

Aldi? In Diss? I go to Diss quite often but I can only think of Tesco & Morrisons. I didn't even know they'd got an Aldi! (The one in Stowmarket closed down through lack of trade but I quite often use the one on the edge of Ipswich)
