I am sat here drinking some caramel tea with milk. It is yummy and if I could transfer myself into a teabag I would choose a caramel tea bag to spend the rest of my days with in marital harmony.
However it tastes 'too' nice.

On the packet all it says is 10% flavouring. So this could potentialy have aspartame ect in? I am sat here in pleasure but also I am slightly worried. What do you think are the 'flavourings'?

things that will mess with your mind.
Aspartame is a sugar replacement not a flavoring. The flavoring will be caramel which is burnt sugar, probably artificial flavoring, nothing to be worried about unless you have an intolerance to artificial flavoring.

The problem is it does taste slightly sweet. I usually add a little honey to my tea but with this I dont have to. That means it should have some kind of sweetner in right?
Well, caramel is sweet.
Caramel tea?

Wow! I haven't seen that.

I think it sounds horrid. But, I've never had it.

It might surprise you I bought a box on Saturday and half has gone already. I have never drank so much tea
IF it has an artificial sweetener it has to be stated on the label. Caramel is naturally sweet.
Sounds revolting. Caramel in coffee - now that's a different matter altogether
Caramel tea is known to convince people they are living in a parallel universe. Beware, they are watching you!!!

RATTER is this a case of weekend celebrations running into Mondays?
Chances are that there's no trace of natural caramel in the product at all. Off the top of my head, 4,5-Dimethyl-3-hydroxy-2(5H)-furanone and 3,4-Dimethyl-2-hydroxy-2-cyclopenten-1-one, or better still, a carefully calculated blend of both would give the tea a caramel flavour.

Both of these substances are far cheaper in bulk than naturally derived caramel.

Incidentally, no one has an intolerance to artificial flavouring en masse. What we have is an intolerance to the individual chemicals that make up that artificial flavouring or an individual chemical itself.
i've just had a caramel doughnut and whilst nice, too sweet. i don't think i'd like caramel tea
